NOT HARD TO PUT TOGETHER
When I read all the reviews of this product, my wife and I were nervous about how difficult it will be to put together. It took us about 5 minutes to put both of them together. I used a power drill to help but even if you have a screwdriver it will be better than using the tools it comes with. I have learned with furniture products I buy from Amazon is always go slow when putting screws in and don’t over tighten. Overall, pretty good product!

I just got this table pair in today and so far it’s great, it’s pretty sturdy and a great height and size for me. It wasn’t hard to put together for me, it took about 30-40 minutes and I suck at putting furniture together.I didn’t think the alignment was bad or anything, it seems to be a normal bedside/living room couch table(s), no complaints from me.It’s a pretty good size, 19 inches about so you could use it for a lot of different things. Definitely a good set for the price.

The longer I get in the tooth the more I experience brain farts, as I did when assembling these trays. However, based on the number of reviews that mention difficulties with assembly, I guess Iâm not the only one. I attached the legs to the swivel bolts in the wrong position, which slightly bent the L-shaped brackets and made it impossible to fold the trays. Yes, I did this on both trays (eye roll). Note that I did not think to watch an assembly video first – if I had, I could have put these together perfectly in no time. Well, I kept finagling it over and over without success, completely stripping the swivel bolts in the process, until finally I figured out what I had done wrong. Using my own wrench, screwdriver and pliers (needed to tighten the stripped bolts) I managed to get them re-assembled correctly, bent brackets and all. Thus my recommendation not to rely solely on the included instructions for assembly, as they are all in pictures and lack detail. My other recommendation is to use your own tools (if not a drill, then at least a wrench and screwdriver), because the tools that come with the trays are a joke. If it werenât for the poor tools and instructions, I would have given this 5 stars, because I do think the trays are sturdy and nice-looking for a relatively good price.

Just what I needed.
These went together easily although Iâd recommend using a real Phillips screwdriver. Came with a few extra nuts and bolts which I thought was nice.It is a bit hard to fold the tables up as the plastic clips are very tight. The instructions recommend not tightening the bolts and nuts too tight as that makes them even harder to fold.Iâm quite satisfied with these. Only suggestion Iâd make is to not have the cross brace at the front by your feet. It is easy to shake the tables if your foot hits them.

These do not come pre assembled
Okay so I will start off by saying that these do not come pre-assembled, which is something that I expected, and that they are kind of a pain in the ass to do so, and that it seems like other purchasers of this item have similar issues as I did. First of all, the nuts that come with the hardware set DO NOT fit the screws. This means you wonât be able to tighten the metal portion to the wooden top and youâll have a really flimsy foundation. I went to my local hardware store and purchased the correct size (pictured here) and was able to tighten the screws. However, the foundation was still a little rickety. The snap-lock things are difficult to undo for when you when to fold the tray, and you canât tighten the screws to the top too tightly as this will prevent you from folding and unfolding the tray entirely. Overall, I appreciate the great price and it does look nice with my furniture, but these shouldâve come pre-assembled.

missing 1 of 4 rivets at the X joint, self tapping screws seem like they will strip
I would have just returned it if I had noticed the missing rivet between the second pair of legs where it swivels. But I had already put together all the self tapping screws, and I didn’t want to undo it all to return it. Since I have a complete tool setup with many collections of screws, nuts, washers, etc. I was able to repair it myself. All told it took me about 1 hour to get it all assembled. Should have come already assembled, since it would have packed just as compact. Well, maybe an extra 1 inch or so. Mine came with a useless toy wrench and no screwdriver.The wood is nice, but I worry that the self tapping screws will strip. I was afraid to over-tighten them, as it seemed that one 1/4 extra turn and it could come loose and would have no way to repair, except perhaps moving the grippers over and using a drill.These are not easily folded when not in use. You need a lot of force to disengage them from the C shaped holders that have only 2 screws keeping each side attached to the wood. I’m sure that after 20 or 30 times releasing these, the screws will pop out instead of the legs releasing from the grips. Best to not fold them up after each use. I’ll leave mine outside.The only real plus was the video on amazon that showed how to assemble them. I didn’t even open the booklet, so I can’t comment on that. I ended up using a small socket wrench on the slip-less nuts, with my own screwdriver on the other side. I also used a small electric screwdriver (looks like a small drill) to do the screws, since it let me be sure I was vertical. Using a screwdriver seems like you could screw it in on an angle, and you only get one shot per screw to get them right – and there’s 16 of them.
